The Suppression Continues
Mark Taylor: Columbine and Big Pharma Whistleblower, now drugged and jailed
Mark Taylor is a Columbine survivor who became a whistle blower after he discovered that his assailants were raped, sodomized, and given mind altering drugs which may have contributed to their insanity in carrying out the massacre.
Mark Taylor also brought a suit against the big pharmaceutical companies and won! Additionally, Mark blew the whistle early in the Columbine investigation that SWAT team members stationed on the roof of the high school fired into the school and may have been responsible for some of the injuries and deaths that occurred on that tragic day.
Since day one, Mark has been intimidated and harassed by big-pharma corporations and police, unlawfully having his freedom taken away in 2008 when police sited a “report” that Mark intended to bomb a Border’s Book Store — he visited book stores to check merchandizing and placement of the book he wrote and published.
Mark Taylor was apprehended by police who could not produce a justifiable, legal reason to arrest him. On the same technicality which the US government employed to detain US Marine Brandon Raub, Mark was apprehended, institutionalized and force medicated with the same mind altering drugs he fought against in his landmark court case against pharmaceutical companies.
Whistleblower Mark Taylor has been institutionalized against his will in a psychiatric hospital, and force-medicated with psychotropic drugs by court order. Donna Taylor is desperately trying to have her son released from State custody, weened off the psychotropic drugs which have rendered him a virtual zombie, as well as tell the true story about the massive political cover-up of facts about the Columbine shooting. http://usahitman.com/mtcwdaj/
Mark, the courageous Columbine miracle boy, who survived what many did not, and who lived to be an advocate for others, is now hospitalized long term with doctors forcing on him the very type of drug that he advocated should be removed off the market. This drugging regime has left Mark unable to communicate and to care for himself. His mother, Donna Taylor, has been appointed as his legal guardian. Now, under the best of circumstances, Mark Taylor faces at least one to two years of recovery. So Mark has been victimized again by the pharmaceutical industry and the medical professionals who support this forced drugging with anti-depressants and SSRI’s and he may never fully recover from this continued misuse and abuse of psychiatric medications.

Overly Tabletized Museum Info
Just back from Singapore. It’s about 15 years since my last visit and it’s amazing how much progress they have made. The world’s most efficient country. The new National Museum of Singapore is very impressive, in terms of both buildings and collections. I particularly liked the full-length paintings of old-time governors, including one by John Singer Sargent that could be in any art museum in the world, even disregarding the historical value.
Sadly, the museum is an example of mobile technology run amok. All information about the exhibited objects is provided on a tablet that you borrow when entering the history exhibition. The good news is that this allows for more in-depth information than traditional museum labels, and it’s also easier to provide the text in multiple languages that would crowd a printed label.
But the tablet fails to support the actual museum-going experience. You pause by a wall or display case with maybe 10-20 objects, each only marked by a number. And then you’re supposed to enter all these numbers into the tablet to find out what you’re seeing. No way: much too slow.
Nothing beats the roaming human eye in terms of quickly taking in volumes of information, especially when glancing around a large physical space. In a second or two, you can scan a big wall and focus on the label for the object that interests you the most. A few more seconds suffice to scan the label for the most pertinent information (what is it? how old is it?), and then you can either read more or move your gaze to the next object. All in much less time than it takes to type in a 3-4 digit number on a tablet.
You can easily imagine a more efficient retrieval user interface: for example one that utilizes location and direction to display information about an object simply by being pointed in the direction of that object. While faster, this would still be slower than simply glancing at a label next to the object.
Let’s stick to old technology when it works better. Then for sure use tablets to provide supplementary information, multimedia, and other elements that utilize its strengths and provide sufficient added-value to justify the interaction cost.

18 Reasons to Just Say No To Vaccines
Love it! The irony just cracks me up. And then I shed a spiritual tear for those we have yet to reach who are about to be harmed by vaccines. 800 kids had their lives ruined by a flu shot.
I have a sleeping disorder. It’s called Children.
NO! The one word that can save your life.
“As a retired physician, I can honestly say that unless you are in a serious accident, your best chance of living to a ripe old age is to avoid doctors and hospitals and learn nutrition and other forms of natural medicine unless you are fortunate enough to have a Maximized Living doctor available. Almost all drugs are toxic and are designed only to treat symptoms and not to cure anyone.
Vaccines are highly dangerous, have never been adequately studied or proven to be effective, and have a poor risk/reward ratio. Most surgery is unnecessary and most textbooks of medicine are inaccurate and deceptive. Almost every disease is said to be idiopathic (without known cause) or genetic - although this is untrue. In short, our main stream medical system is hopelessly inept and/or corrupt. The treatment of cancer and degenerative diseases is a national scandal. The sooner you learn this, the better off you will be.” - Dr Allen Greenberg
I saw this pic and the above quote then went looking for Dr Allen Greenberg and came across this collection of quotations. Considering the autism rate is at or approaching (depends on whose figures you read) 1 in 75 children, perhaps THE most important collection of medical quotes ever assembled.
“There is a great deal of evidence to prove that immunization of children does more harm than good.” – Dr. J. Anthony Morris, formerly Chief Vaccine Control Officer at the FDA
“The only safe vaccine is one that is never used.” – Dr. James A. Shannon, MD, former director of the National Institutes of Health (1955-1968)
“My own personal view is that vaccines are unsafe and worthless. I will not allow myself to be vaccinated again....Vaccines may be profitable but in my view, they are neither safe nor effective.” – Dr. Vernon Coleman, MB, ChB, DSc (Hon)
“Vaccines are highly dangerous, have never been adequately studied or proven to be effective, and have a poor risk/reward ratio....The treatment of cancer and degenerative diseases is a national scandal. The sooner you learn this, the better off you will be.” – Dr. Allen Greenberg, MD
“I found the whole vaccine business was indeed a gigantic hoax. Most doctors are convinced that they are useful, but if you look at the proper statistics and study the instances of these diseases you will realize that this is not so.” – Dr. Archivides Kalokerinos, MD
“The vaccinations are not working and they are dangerous. We should be working with nature.” – Dr. Lendon Smith, MD
“In my medical career I’ve treated vaccinated and unvaccinated children and the unvaccinated children are far healthier than the vaccinated ones.” – Dr. Philip Incao, MD
“There is no scientific evidence that vaccinations are of any benefit, but it is clear that they cause a great deal of harm.” – Dr. Gerhard Buchwald, MD
“Nobody needs to be confused but everybody better be darn well frightened about taking any vaccine, under any circumstance, for any reason, at any time in their life.” – Dr. Daniel H. Duffy Sr., DC (retired air force officer – 21 yrs., family doctor – 28 yrs., vaccination researcher – 49 yrs.)
“I have no faith in vaccination; nay, I look upon it with the greatest possible disgust, and firmly believe that it is often the medium of conveying many filthy and loathsome diseases from one child to another, and no protection whatever against small pox. Indeed, I consider we are now living in the Jennerian epoch for the slaughter of innocents, and the unthinking portion of the adult population.” – Dr. W.J. Collins, MD, BS, BSc, MRCS
“I vaccinated both my children with the MMR jab, but this was before I started my research into the problems associated with it. Knowing what I know now, I would not vaccinate my children and run the risk of them getting diabetes, asthma, eczema, becoming more susceptible to meningitis and ending up chronically disabled.” – Dr. Jayne Donegan, GP, Homeopath
“I once believed in Jenner; I once believed in Pasteur. I believed in vaccination. I believed in vivisection. But I changed my views as the result of hard thinking.” – Dr. Walter Hadwen, MD, LSA, MRCS, LRCP, MB, BS, BSc
“There is no evidence that any influenza vaccine thus far developed is effective in preventing or mitigating any attack of influenza. The producers of these vaccines know that they are worthless, but they go on selling them anyway.” – Dr. J. Anthony Morris, formerly Chief Vaccine Control Officer at the FDA
“There is insufficient evidence to support routine vaccination of healthy persons of any age.” – Dr. Paul Frame, MD, Journal of Family Practice
“Only after realizing that routine immunizations were dangerous did I achieve a substantial drop in infant death rates.” – Dr. Archivides Kalokerinos, MD
“To create fear among parents to strengthen their motivation to vaccinate is an important part of the publicity used to promote vaccinations. A whole branch of research is examining the question: What level of fear needs to be created to appear as convincing as possible?” – Dr. Gerhard Buchwald, MD
“I’ll talk about vaccines. Number one, vaccines make people sick. They don’t work. They don’t protect. The use of vaccines is totally wrong! It’s perfect nonsense based on fear. They are dangerous. One child out of five has overwhelming disabilities from vaccines – nuerological problems, seizures. I’ve got a whole list. There are plenty of books on this subject. Doctors don’t even read about this.” Interview with Dr. Guylaine Lanctot, MD
“During those 30 years I have run against so many histories of little children who had never seen a sick day until they were vaccinated and who, in the several years that have followed, have never seen a well day since. I couldn’t put my finger on the disease they have. They just weren’t strong. Their resistance was gone. They were perfectly well before they were vaccinated. They have never been well since.” – Dr. William Howard Hay, MD
“Had my mother and father known that the poliovirus vaccines of the 1950s were heavily contaminated with more than 26 monkey viruses, including the cancer virus SV40, I can say with certainty that they would not have allowed their children and themselves to take those vaccines. Both of my parents might not have developed cancers suspected of being vaccine-related, and might even be alive today.” – Dr. Howard B. Urnovitz, PhD, CEO, CSO and co-founder of Chronix Biomedical
“We are taught by the authorities that vaccines protect us against eventual aggressive viruses and microbes, and, therefore, prevent contagious illnesses and epidemics. This lie has been perpetuated for 150 years despite the ineffectiveness of vaccines in protecting against illnesses.” – Dr. Guylaine Lanctot, MD
The greatest threat of childhood diseases lies in the dangerous and ineffectual efforts made to prevent them through mass immunization....There is no convincing scientific evidence that mass inoculations can be credited with eliminating any childhood disease.” – Dr. Robert Mendelsohn, MD, Author
“Childhood vaccines are giving us a world of chronic illness: autism, developmental disorders, Asperger’s Syndrome, brain tumors, leukemia, cancers, information processing disorders, impulsive violence, allergies, asthma, diabetes, Crohn’s disease, intestinal disorders, are just some of the vaccine associated disorders.” – Dr. Tedd Koren, DC
“I am no longer trying to dig up evidence to prove vaccines cause autism. There is already abundant evidence. This debate is not scientific but is political.” Dr. David Ayoub, MD
“There are at least seven laboratory studies, clinical studies, of blood, cerebral, spinal fluid, biopsies of autistic children which show huge differences between autistic children and normal children in terms of the presence of things like measles vaccine virus in their intestinal tract, for example, or their neurons. So, there’s one line of evidence. Another, of course, is that we have data from thousands of parents who testify, often with videotapes and photographs and eyewitness reports, that their kid was perfectly normal. And they can demonstrate it, as I say, very conclusively with tapes, until after the vaccine. The kid retreated into autism. There’s just converging evidence from many, many directions.” – Dr. Bernard Rimland, PhD, founder and former director of the Autism Research Institute
“When the link between the use of unsafe, mercury-laden vaccine and autism, ADHD, asthma, allergies and diabetes becomes undeniable, mainstream medicine will be sporting a huge, self-inflicted and well-deserved black eye. Then will come the billion-dollar awards, by enraged juries, to the children and their families.” – Dr. Bernard Rimland, PhD, founder and former director of the Autism Research Institute
“The greatest threat to our health today is the medical community, and one of their most dangerous tools is vaccination - particularly the horrific procedure of injecting foreign protein into newborn infants!” - Dr. Daniel H. Duffy, DC
“For thirty years kids died from smallpox vaccinations even though no longer threatened by the disease.” - Dr. Robert Mendelsohn, MD
“Many here voice a silent view that the Salk and Sabin Polio Vaccines, being made from monkey kidney tissue, have been directly responsible for the major increase in leukaemia in this country.” - Dr. F. Klenner, MD
“As a clinician, my current belief which guides my practice with these children is that any child given the Hep B vaccination at birth and subsequent boosters along with DPT has received unacceptable levels of neurotoxin in the form of the ethyl mercury in the thimerosal preservative used in the vaccine. In any child with a genetic immune susceptibility (probably about one in six) this sets off a series of events that injure the brain-gut-immune system. By the time they are ready to receive the MMR vaccination, their immune system is so impaired in a great number of these children that the triple vaccine cannot be handled by the now dysfunctional immune system and they begin their obvious descent into the autistic spectrum disorder.” - Dr. Jaquelyn McCandless, MD
“In 1976 I was working in the Gulf Country around Cape York, in an aboriginal community of about 300 people. The Health Department sent around a team and vaccinated about 100 of them against flu. Six were dead within 24 hours or so and they weren’t all old people, one man being in his early twenties. They threw the bodies in trucks to take to the coast where autopsies were done. It appeared they had died from heart attacks.” - Dr. Archie Kalokerinos, MD
“As a retired physician, I can honestly say that unless you are in a serious accident, your best chance of living to a ripe old age is to avoid doctors and hospitals and learn nutrition, herbal medicine and other forms of natural medicine unless you are fortunate enough to have a naturopathic physician available. Almost all drugs are toxic and are designed only to treat symptoms and not to cure anyone.” - Dr. Alan Greenberg, MD
“According to the records of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, from 1911 to 1935 the four leading causes of childhood deaths from infectious diseases in the U.S.A. were diptheria, pertussis, scarlet fever, and measles. However, by 1945 the combined death rates from these causes had declined by 95% before the implementation of mass vaccine programs.” - Dr. Buttram, MD
“I would consider the risks associated with measles vaccination unacceptable even if there were convincing evidence that the vaccine works. There isn’t. .... In 1900 there were 13.3 measles deaths per 100,000 population. By 1955, before the first measles shot, the death rate had declined 97.7 percent to only 0.03 deaths per 100,000.” – Dr. Mendelsohn, MD
“Up to 90% of the total decline in the death rate of children between 1860 and1965, because of whooping cough, scarlet fever, diptheria, and measles, occurred before the introduction of immunizations and antibiotics.” - Dr Archie Kalokerinos, MD
“What the vaccinators don’t tell you is that communicable diseases have been declining at a steady rate for 150 years and that there is no relationship between the various diseases and the onset of immunization. Without exception, the vaccine program for each of the childhood diseases was inaugurated after that paticular diseases had begun to disappear. Contrary to what you have been told, this includes polio. What the vaccines have done is cause the various childhood diseases to become adulthood diseases - with far more serious implications, mumps in men and rubella in women for example.” - Dr. William Douglass, MD
“One of the medical profession’s greatest boasts is that it eradicated smallpox through the use of the smallpox vaccine. I myself believed this claim for many years. But it simply isn’t true. One of the worst smallpox epidemics of all time took place in England between 1870 and 1872 – nearly two decades after compulsory vaccination was introduced. After this evidence that smallpox vaccination didn’t work the people of Leicester in the English midlands refused to have the vaccine any more. When the next smallpox epidemic struck in the early 1890s the people of Leicester relied upon good sanitation and a system of quarantine. There was only one death from smallpox in Leicester during that epidemic. In contrast the citizens of other towns (who had been vaccinated) died in vast numbers. ......Doctors and drug companies may not like it but the truth is that surveillance, quarantine and better living conditions got rid of smallpox – not the smallpox vaccine......It is worth pointing out that Edward Jenner, widely feted as the inventor of the smallpox vaccine, tried out the first smallpox vaccination on his own 10 month old son. His son remained mentally retarded until his death at the age of 21. Jenner refused to have his second child vaccinated.” – Dr. Vernon Coleman, MB
“I have lectured all over the world... I have always had a special interest in newspapers. All of them have one thing in common, there is always some reference made to some epidemic in some part of the world. For instance, two years ago, one paper referred to a polio epidemic in Holland. For the past three years, our newspapers have commented on the diphtheria epidemic in Russia. By these means, the population is constantly threatened with epidemics, they have been made to fear them, and the reports always conclude: ”Go and get vaccinated.” - Dr. Buchwald, MD
“In 1866, an English physician described a very strange illness. Children looked like Mongols. His name was Down. That’s why we call it Down’s Syndrome today... I should add that this syndrome is a result of the vaccinations carried throughout England by Jenner in 1796... It (Down’s Syndrome) is probably the first congenital disease caused by vaccinations. In Germany, the first child with evidence of Down’s Syndrome was reported in 1922. Today, one in every 700 newborns has it.” - Dr. Buchwald, MD
“Using kids as guinea pigs in potentially harmful vaccine experiments is every parents’ worst nightmare. This actually happened in 1989-1991 when Kaiser Permanente of Southern California and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) jointly conducted a measles vaccine experiment. Without proper parental disclosure, the Yugoslavian-made ”high titre” Edmonston-Zagreb measles vaccine was tested on 1,500 poor, primarily black and Latino, inner city children in Los Angeles. Highly recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), the high-potency experimental vaccine was previously injected into infants in Mexico, Haiti, and Africa. It was discontinued in these countries when it was discovered that the children were dying in large numbers.” - Dr. Alan Cantwell MD
“Vaccination against tuberculosis is often given as the reason why this disease stopped being quite the threat to life that it had been in the 18th century. But again, this isn’t true. Robert Koch discovered the pathogen that causes TB back in 1883. After that BCG vaccination was introduced and then, subsequently, mass treatment programs were devised with chemotherapy. None of these discoveries or introductions had any effect on the incidence of tuberculosis. Contracting TB doesn’t provide any immunity against a second infection. And if a natural infection doesn’t provide protection then a vaccination certainly won’t provide protection. How on earth can it? It was noticed decades ago that in the lung sanatoriums that specialized in the treatment of TB patients there was no difference in the survival rates of patients who had been ‘protected’ against TB with BCG vaccination when compared to the survival rates of patients who had received no such ‘protection’. The tuberculosis vaccination (the Bacillus Calmette-Guerin – known as BCG) consists of a weakened, living bovine mycobacterium. The vaccine was used for many years but a WHO trial in India showed that the vaccine offers no protection against the disease. Indeed, when new cases of tuberculosis increased annually in the areas where people had been vaccinated against the disease the trial seemed to suggest that there might be a link between the vaccine and outbreaks of the disease.” - Dr. Vernon Coleman, MB
“Vaccination against diphtheria was introduced to Germany in 1925. After the introduction of the vaccine the number of cases of diphtheria steadily increased until, shortly after the Second World War, production of the vaccine was halted. There was a decline in the incidence of the disease which coincided with the fact that the vaccination was no longer being used. When the vaccine was subsequently reintroduced the decline in the incidence of the disease slowed down. As with whooping cough, tetanus and other diseases, the incidence and number of deaths from diphtheria, were in decline long before the vaccine was introduced.” - Dr. Vernon Coleman, MB
“The whooping cough vaccine has never had much of an influence on the number of children dying from whooping cough. The dramatic fall in the number of deaths caused by the disease came well before the vaccine was widely available and was, historians agree, the result of improved public health measures and, indirectly, the use of antibiotics. ..... The introduction of the vaccine really didn’t make very much, if any, difference to the fall in the incidence of the disease. Even today (1988) thirty years after the introduction of the vaccine, whooping cough cases are still running at about 1,000 a week in Britain. Similarly, the figures show that the introduction of the vaccine had no effect on the number of children dying from whooping cough. ....My second point is that the whooping cough vaccine is neither very efficient nor is it safe..... the government (in the form of the DHSS) has consistently lied about the whooping cough vaccine, has distorted the truth and has deceived both the medical profession (for the majority of doctors and nurses who give these injections accept the recommendations made by the DHSS without question) and millions of parents. The DHSS may have saved itself a tidy sum in damages. But the cost to the nation’s health has been enormous. And this, remember, is merely one more example of the way in which the truth has been distorted by those whom we trust to provide us with honest, accurate advice about medicine and health care.” - Dr. Vernon Coleman, MB
By now you are probably wondering, “So if this many medical professionals have done their homework and found vaccines to be not safe or effective, then why do so many doctors and public mindlessly repeat the official mantra?” This video may explain the way the system works.
And just in case you need any more data to be totally convinced that the drug companies are nothing more than a criminal cabal, check this out!
According to former Merck virologists Stephen Krahling and Joan Wlochowski, the company:
- “Falsified test data to fabricate a vaccine efficacy rate of 95 percent or higher.”
- Spiked the blood test with animal antibodies in order to artificially inflate the appearance of immune system antibodies.
- Pressured the two virologists to “participate in the fraud and subsequent cover-up.”
- Used the falsified trial results to swindle the U.S. government out of “hundreds of millions of dollars for a vaccine that does not provide adequate immunization.”
- Intimidated the scientists, threatening them with going to jail unless they stayed silent.
This is all documented in a 2010 False Claims Act which NaturalNews has acquired and posted here:
A note from Judy Wilyman.
HPV vaccination programs are running in schools in the coming weeks so I would like to provide you with some information that is not provided in the government pamphlets. Please also note that Australia is the first country to offer this vaccine universally to all boys as a prevention for anal and penal cancers and the research associating this vaccine with these cancers (and with cervical cancer) has been sponsored by the manufacturers of the vaccine. Here are the ingredients of the HPV vaccine Gardasil®:
Sodium borate and polysorbate 80 are known to cause infertility in laboratory rats.
- sodium borate (borax)
- 225 ug amorphous aluminium hydroxyphosphate sulphate
- polysorbate 80
- L-histidine hydrochloride
- 4 recombinant VLP’s: HPV types – 16, 18, 11 and 6.
- amino Acids, carbohydrates, mineral salts, vitamins
To date this vaccine has not been demonstrated to prevent any cervical cancer and this fact is presented in a recent Letter to the Editor of the Infectious Agents and Cancer Journal here http://www.infectagentscancer.com/content/pdf/1750-9378-8-6.pdf
I have also condensed this information into a fact sheet on my website for easier reading http://www.vaccinationdecisions.net/publications-2.php
There have been many adverse events to this vaccine and they are listed on this website http://www.sanevax.org
There are other posts on the immunisation-update page of my website. Here are some links:
Please take the time to inform yourselves about this HPV vaccine because no vaccine is without side-effects and governments have a monitoring system that is not capable of making causal relationships between adverse reactions and the vaccine. This is because they use a ’passive’ system not an ’active’ monitoring system which relies entirely on voluntary reporting of reactions usually within days of the vaccine. Many of the chemicals in the vaccine are known to cause delayed reactions including autoimmune diseases and other neurological disorders.
Please take the time to inform yourselves of this vaccine before you allow your child to receive it.

An interesting scale...
Gluten Free and Sugar Free Quinoa Coconut Macroons
Looks like something to try with the grand kids!
I’d have to bake them a bit longer though.
6 tablespoons egg whites (from about 3 large eggs)
1/4 cup honey (raw is preferable; maple syrup would probably do as well)
1 1/2 cups unsweetened shredded coconut
1 cup cooked quinoa
Pinch of salt
Combine the egg whites and honey in a heatproof bowl.
Begin by tempering the eggs, which will create a nice crispy cookie exterior. Place the bowl over a pot with boiling water inside and whisk the eggs and honey together until creamy and warm. Test with your finger - if they’re warm to the touch, they’re tempered.
When the egg and honey mixture is warm to the touch, take the bowl off the heat and mix in coconut, quinoa and salt.
Chill in the fridge for at least two hours.
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F or 163 degrees C
Line a baking sheet with a non-stick baking mat or double parchment paper (the bottoms are sensitive and will burn easily).
Using an ice cream scoop or two spoons, scoop the coconut quinoa dough onto the baking sheet. You will probably need to form the cookies into little round half domes with your fingers, pressing them together tightly so they are sure to stick together while baking.
Bake in the center of a warm oven for 15 minutes until the cookies are nice and golden brown.
Let them cool for at least 10 minutes or until completely cooled. Enjoy!

Nicole’s Benzodiazepine Story:
I am sharing this in the hope it prevents someone else from blindly walking into the house of horrors this poor girl has had to endure.
A brief summary of my introduction to Benzos:
I was 25 years old and had just finished my Master’s Degree. I was working at a new job and was under a tremendous amount of life stress. I was prescribed 0.5mg of Xanax to be taken “as needed”. Taking it “as needed” led to interdose withdrawal (withdrawal symptoms between doses). This caused intense, severe anxiety, shaking, inability to focus/concentrate and irritability in between doses. Because I wasn’t educated on benzos and the prescribing doctor never informed me that interdose withdrawal was a symptom from the medication itself, I believed I was developing some form of an “anxiety disorder”. The symptoms were so intolerable that I became suicidal and had an overdose attempt within months of being prescribed the Xanax. This was my unfortunate introduction to Psychiatry and ultimately led to my undoing some years later. After the overdose attempt, I was off of the Xanax, but decided to see a Psychiatrist as I was terrified about my recent behavior. Hadd I simply walked away after this incident, I wouldn’t be here today. I will regret my decision to see a Psychiatrist for the rest of my life.
The Psychiatrist, well aware of my recent overdose attempt on Xanax, put me on Klonopin 1mg 3x daily and I was told to take the Xanax 0.5mg twice daily (in between the Klonopin doses). WHY this physician felt that giving me MORE of the class of drug that had just made me suicidal in the previous month was a logical decision, I will never know. At the time, I was completely uneducated about benzos and their consequences (which include suicidal ideation) and was just following instructions. After some time on this increased dose of Klonopin and Xanax (equivalent to 80mg of Valium- a HUGE increase from what I was initially prescribed), I became severely depressed. I was beginning to sleep all day, lose interest in friends, activities that I would have previously enjoyed and I was calling in sick to work frequently. I returned to the Psychiatrist. She then diagnosed me with “depression” and prescribed Adderall 10mg twice daily. With the introduction of Adderall, I became somewhat manic and developed insomnia. The Psychiatrist then prescribed 10mg of Ambien, 25mg of Seroquel and 45mg of Remeron over the course of the next year. In hindsight, ALL of the symptoms she was “treating” by adding more medications were from long-term use of high dose benzodiazepines.
By 2010, 5 years after the first benzo prescription, I was on SIX prescribed Psychiatric drugs and sicker than I had ever been in my life. I was 93 pounds, apathetic, irritable, suicidally depressed, chronically anxious, agoraphobic, cognitively impaired and unable to function. I lost my job after taking two 8-week FMLA leaves in attempt to get myself together by seeing a therapist regularly. Therapy failed, as would be expected, because my problems were all drug-induced. I had tried everything I knew to “fix” myself. I bought books and workbooks about depression and anxiety, I went to talk therapy weekly, I took the prescribed medications as directed, I went to “anxiety” groups in my local area, tried forcing myself to hang out with friends and family. I even sold my house and got a new job in another state, thinking I just needed to simplify my life. NOTHING helped. I felt loneliness, despair, helplessness and hopelessness. I felt damaged and broken.
Benzodiazepine Withdrawal: (a brief, summarized version)
My friends and family had noticed changes in my moods and behavior, but they just chalked it up to stress until my dad read an article in “Outside Magazine” by a rock climber name Matt Samet (article: http://www.outsideonline.com/outdoor-adventure/climbing/rock-climbing/Beauty-in-the-Breakdown.html). The article detailed Matt’s struggle to rid himself of prescribed benzodiazepine dependence. Everything he described in this article, I felt. I finally had an answer as to why I felt so horrible. I called my father and told him that I was willing to do whatever it took to get my life back and we decided that I would check into a rehab center. I was still clueless about benzos at this time, had never read “The Ashton Manual” and had no clue that in order to discontinue these drugs, they had to be tapered slowly. Second to seeing a Psychiatrist and taking psychiatric drugs, going to rehab was the other worst decision of my life.
October 10, 2010, I was cold-turkeyed in a rehab center from 3mg of Klonopin, 1mg of Xanax, 10mg Ambien and 20mg of Adderall. I was put on a six-day “taper” of Phenobarbitol and told by the rehab staff that if I completed their 30 day program I would be “fine”. In the rehab, I was treated horribly. I was told I was an “addict” and that the only way I would recover from my “addiction” was to “surrender” to it and to admit that I was an addict and attend 12-step meetings every day. Because of the weight loss I experienced from tolerance withdrawal and the recent cold-turkey, I was accused of being “anorexic”. I was SO confused and terrified, I decided to just go through the motions until my 30 days was over. In the first 30 days off of the benzos and Adderall, I noticed some symptoms, a choking sensation that caused me to gag on my food and have difficulty swallowing, shaking in the mornings, dilated pupils, extreme irritability, mental confusion and severe constipation. When I mentioned these symptoms to the rehab staff, I was given no explanation and I was placed on 300mg of Neurontin to be taken 3x daily (900mg/day). My Seroquel was increased from 25mg at night to 50mg at night. The doubled dose of Seroquel caused me to have a seizure for which I was hospitalized and observed overnight. No one told me anything about withdrawal or what to expect. I was never warned that it was dangerous to stop taking these drugs without tapering slowly.
After 30 days in rehab, I went home and stayed with relatives. I tried going back to my condo out of state, but I could not tolerate being alone and was unable to function and care for myself. With each month that I was in cold-turkey, my symptoms became MORE severe. I had horrific terror, anxiety, panic, depression, racing thoughts, intrusive thoughts, rage, agitation, DP/DR, cognitive impairment, suicidal/homicidal thinking, sweats, tremors, psychosis, hallucinations, skin burning, pain, etc. I had found a few benzo forums by this point and was told that I couldn’t reinstate the drug, that it was “too late” and that I had been in c/t w/d for too long to go back on. I continued to endure the waking hell that was benzo w/d for four long months. During these long, barbaric four months, I quickly (and too rapidly, without precision) peeled myself off of 45mg of Remeron, 25mg of Seroquel and 900mg of Neurontin. Each drug I came off of had it’s own withdrawal syndrome and exacerbated the benzodiazepine withdrawal that I was already suffering. I wanted to be OFF of EVERYTHING.
No one believed what was happening to me. I saw NUMEROUS doctors. All of them said the SAME thing. “It’s out of your system. This is not withdrawal. This is a return of your ’condition’.” BULLSHIT!! It was ALL BULLSHIT!!...and I KNEW IT. I felt helpless, hopeless and utter despair. My family called me “lazy” and “pathetic”. I was accused of being an “addict”. I wanted to die because the torture of withdrawal was so intense, I could no longer cope. I had yet another suicide attempt, which was really just a cry for help, by taking a handful of 25mg Seroquel pills. I didn’t really want to die, I just knew that I could no longer live in the condition I was in and the pain of all of the hurtful things my family was saying to me was too much to bear. I just wanted someone to believe me, to HELP ME, and no one would listen or validate what I was going through.
Once released from the ICU after the overdose in January 2011, I reinstated to 1mg of Klonopin. I knew that it was a much smaller dose than the dose that I had been c/t’ed from 4 months prior, but I was too afraid to reinstate my full dose. I did not get stable on this dose and made the mistake of trying to taper off again too quickly. Over the next 9 months or so, I widdled my dose of Klonopin down. I was able to stay off for a month before I had to reinstate yet again, as the torture of withdrawal from reducing too quickly was too much to bear. My last reinstatement was to 20mg of Valium in December 2011. I did not get stable on this dose either, despite holding for 2 months. I tapered for a year from the Valium, never getting much relief from the symptoms. Currently, as of February 2013 , I am 2 months off of all drugs and will endure the withdrawal symptoms for as long as it takes to be completely rid of these prescribed psychiatric poisons and healed from their aftermath.
Drugs I was prescribed over the course of 5 years: (the initial complaint that I saw a doctor for was work-related stress) Xanax, Klonopin, Ambien, Adderall, Remeron, Seroquel. I was also recommended to take various SSRI drugs, all of which made me manic and suicidal after one dose. Luckily, I never agreed to take any of them long-term for this reason.
Drugs that were prescribed to me in rehab: Neurontin, Trazadone, Topamax, Effexor
I currently take NO medications or supplements. I do not use any drugs or alcohol recreationally.
Severe nerve pain in my spine/legs/butt/pelvis which makes it very difficult to do much of anything besides lay on the couch, depersonalization, derealization, apathy, anhedonia, mood swings, depression, anxiety, cognitive impairment (I cannot read books, watch TV or cook for myself), agoraphobia, sensory and perceptual distortions, shaking, sweating, cold chills and sweats, nausea, headaches, blurred vision, rage/anger outbursts, racing/looping/obsessive thinking, irrational fears (especially of death and disease), total loss of self-esteem, dry mouth, muscle tightness and fasciculations, teeth grinding, severe fatigue and weakness, irritability and agitation, diarrhea/constipation, decreased appetite, light and sound sensitivity, heightened startle reflex, intolerance of hot and cold temperatures, intolerance to exercise, racing heart and panic upon awakening, a sensation that I’m “on a boat” and everything is moving and that my feet sink into the floor when walking, restlessness, etc. (too many to list)
In closing, I never needed any of the drugs I was prescribed. Psychiatry has stolen my life, my ability to be employed, my friends, my family and most importantly, my health. Psychiatry is riddled with lies and deception. Psychiatry kills.
Our Health Is More Valuable After We Lose It
Oh how I wish this were not the case!
If you don’t consider your health the second most valuable asset you have (after your personal integrity), please make a point of talking to some people who are not in good health. If you are adventurous you might ask them what they would like to do differently if they had their time over again.
Of course, they may or may not know what brought about their condition, after all, the medical profession have to justify their "not know" of the truth by saying "it’s just the luck of the draw" or "it’s all in the genes".
I have heard it said that those who do not know history are condemned to repeat it.
I also read where one wit wrote, Those who do know history are condemned to watch others repeat it.
Having learned the 12 pieces to the jigsaw puzzle of good health I am incredibly keen to help others avoid the pitfalls, traps, lies and deceptions that form the barriers to maintaining optimal health.
After all, those who know the 12 factors involved in maintaining optimal health are condemned to watch others die for lack of knowing them. Watching others suffer is painful.
These 12 items are offered here, free of charge. I encourage you to take them aboard and investigate for yourself, the impact each of them has on your quality of life. That way you will have a rock solid certainty on them.
Most people do not have the 2,000 hours it has taken taken me to research and find the data necessary to gain an understanding of how each of these factors impact on health and to compile it.
That is one reason I have compiled what I have learned into a two volume set. To save you the time and trouble of sifting through the morass of conflicting data out there.
If you wish to avail yourself of it, the book is available at www.defeatdegenerativedisease.com as a downloadable eBook. If you prefer to read a physical book rather than on a computer screen, drop me a line or give me a call.

Older men scam
Dear Old Male Friends,
Be very careful, especially during the holidays with these types of terrible scams happening!!!
Watch out for this scam!!
Women often receive warnings about protecting themselves at the mall and in dark parking lots, etc. This is the first warning I have seen for men. I wanted to pass it on in case you haven’t heard about it; sort of a ’heads up’ for those men who may be regular customers of Lowe’s, Home Depot, Costco, or even Wal-Mart. This one caught me totally by surprise.
Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don’t be naive enough to think it couldn’t happen to you or your friends.
Here’s how the scam works:
Two nice-looking, college-aged girls will come over to your car or truck as you are packing your purchases into your vehicle. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts(it’s impossible not to look). When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say ’No’ but instead ask for a ride to McDonald’s.
You agree and they climb into the vehicle. On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet.
I had my wallet stolen October 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, 17th, 20th, 24th, & 29th. Also November 1st & 4th, twice on the 8th, the 16th, 23rd, 26th & 27th, and very likely again this upcoming weekend.
So tell your friends to be careful. What a horrible way to take advantage of us older men. Warn your friends to be vigilant.
Wal-Mart has wallets on sale for $2.99 each. I found even cheaper ones for $.99 at the dollar store and bought them out in three of their stores.
Also, you never get to eat at McDonald’s. I’ve already lost 11 pounds just running back and forth from Lowe’s, to Home Depot, to Costco, etc.
So please, send this on to all the older men that you know and warn them to be on the lookout for this scam. (The best times are just before lunch and around 4:30 in the afternoon.)

Are We Solving The Right Problem?
NY Subway stabbing shows police protection in US is a legal myth
“City says cops had no duty to protect subway hero who subdued killer,” a New York Post story begins.
An 87 Year Old College Student Named Rose
An 87 Year Old College Student Named Rose
I don’t know if this is true or not.
I don’t care if this is fact or fiction.
In my humble opinion the message is pure gold and deserves to be given to you.
Do with it what you will.
The first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn’t already know. I stood up to look around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder. I turned round to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up at me with a smile that lit up her entire being.
She said, “Hi handsome. My name is Rose. I’m eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?#
I laughed and enthusiastically responded, “Of course you may!” and she gave me a giant squeeze.
“Why are you in college at such a young, innocent age?” I asked.
She jokingly replied, “I’m here to meet a rich husband, get married, and have a couple of kids...”
“No seriously,” I asked. I was curious what may have motivated her to be taking on this challenge at her age.
“I always dreamed of having a college education and now I’m getting one!” she told me.
After class we walked to the student union building and shared a chocolate milkshake. We became instant friends. Every day for the next three months, we would leave class together and talk nonstop. I was always mesmerized listening to this "time machine" as she shared her wisdom and experience with me.
Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily made friends wherever she went. She loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention bestowed upon her from the other students. She was living it up.
At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football banquet. I’ll never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and stepped up to the podium.
As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her three by five cards on the floor. Frustrated and a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply said, “I’m sorry I’m so jittery. I gave up beer for Lent and this whiskey is killing me! I’ll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell you what I know.”
As we laughed she cleared her throat and began, “We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing. There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy, and achieving success. You have to laugh and find humor every day.
“You’ve got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die. We have so many people walking around who are dead and don’t even know it! There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up.
“If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don’t do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old.
“If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight.
“Anybody can grow older. That doesn’t take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding opportunity in change. Have no regrets.
“The elderly usually don’t have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets.”
She concluded her speech by courageously singing “The Rose.”
She challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our daily lives.
At the year’s end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all those years ago. One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep.
Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute to the wonderful woman who taught by example that it’s never too late to be all you can possibly be .When you finish reading this, please send this peaceful word of advice to your friends and family, they’ll really enjoy it!
These words have been passed along in loving memory of ROSE.
REMEMBER, GROWING OLDER IS MANDATORY. GROWING UP IS OPTIONAL.
We make a Living by what we get, We make a Life by what we give.

The Folded Napkin - A Truckers Story
There’s many people doing it tough out there.
The bad guys at the top, they don’t care.
They’re too busy making it hard for people to share.
So spend your $ wisely and make the system more fair.
I try not to be biased, but I had my doubts about hiring Stevie. His placement counselor assured me that he would be a good, reliable busboy. But I had never had a mentally handicapped employee and wasn’t sure I wanted one. I wasn’t sure how my customers would react to Stevie. He was short, a little dumpy with the smooth facial features and thick-tongued speech of Downs Syndrome.
I wasn’t worried about most of my trucker customers because truckers don’t generally care who buses tables as long as the meatloaf platter is good and the pies are homemade. The four-wheeler drivers were the ones who concerned me; the mouthy college kids traveling to school; the yuppie snobs who secretly polish their silverware with their napkins for fear of catching some dreaded “truck stop germ” the pairs of white-shirted business men on expense accounts who think every truck stop waitress wants to be flirted with. I knew those people would be uncomfortable around Stevie so I closely watched him for the first few weeks.
I shouldn’t have worried. After the first week, Stevie had my staff wrapped around his stubby little finger, and within a month my truck regulars had adopted him as their official truck stop mascot. After that, I really didn’t care what the rest of the customers thought of him. He was like a 21-year-old in blue jeans and Nikes, eager to laugh and eager to please, but fierce in his attention to his duties. Every salt and pepper shaker was exactly in its place, not a bread crumb or coffee spill was visible when Stevie got done with the table.
Our only problem was persuading him to wait to clean a table until after the customers were finished. He would hover in the background, shifting his weight from one foot to the other, scanning the dining room until a table was empty. Then he would scurry to the empty table and carefully bus dishes and glasses onto cart and meticulously wipe the table up with a practiced flourish of his rag. If he thought a customer was watching, his brow would pucker with added concentration. He took pride in doing his job exactly right, and you had to love how hard he tried to please each and every person he met.
Over time, we learned that he lived with his mother, a widow who was disabled after repeated surgeries for cancer. They lived on their Social Security benefits in public housing two miles from the truck stop. Their social worker, who stopped to check on him every so often, admitted they had fallen between the cracks. Money was tight, and what I paid him was probably the difference between them being able to live together and Stevie being sent to a group home. That’s why the restaurant was a gloomy place that morning last August, the first morning in three years that Stevie missed work.
He was at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester getting a new valve or something put in his heart. His social worker said that people with Downs Syndrome often have heart problems at an early age so this wasn’t unexpected, and there was a good chance he would come through the surgery in good shape and be back at work in a few months.
A ripple of excitement ran through the staff later that morning when word came that he was out of surgery, in recovery, and doing fine. Frannie, the head waitress, let out a war hoop and did a little dance in the aisle when she heard the good news. Bell Ringer, one of our regular trucker customers, stared at the sight of this 50-year-old grandmother of four doing a victory shimmy beside his table. Frannie blushed, smoothed her apron and shot Belle Ringer a withering look.
He grinned. “OK, Frannie, what was that all about?” he asked.
“We just got word that Stevie is out of surgery and going to be okay.”
“I was wondering where he was. I had a new joke to tell him. What was the surgery about?”
Frannie quickly told Bell Ringer and the other two drivers sitting at his booth about Stevie’s surgery, then sighed: “Yeah, I’m glad he is going to be OK,” she said. “But I don’t know how he and his Mom are going to handle all the bills. From what I hear, they’re barely getting by as it is.” Belle Ringer nodded thoughtfully, and Frannie hurried off to wait on the rest of her tables.
Since I hadn’t had time to round up a busboy to replace Stevie and really didn’t want to replace him, the girls were busing their own tables that day until we decided what to do. After the morning rush, Frannie walked into my office. She had a couple of paper napkins in her hand and a funny look on her face.
“What’s up?” I asked.
“I didn’t get that table where Bell Ringer and his friends were sitting cleared off after they left, and Pony Pete and Tony Tipper were sitting there when I got back to clean it off," she said. "This was folded and tucked under a coffee cup.”
She handed the napkin to me, and three $20 bills fell onto my desk when I opened it. On the outside, in big, bold letters, was printed “Something For Stevie.”
“Pony Pete asked me what that was all about,” she said, “so I told him about Stevie and his Mom and everything, and Pete looked at Tony and Tony looked at Pete, and they ended up giving me this.” She handed me another paper napkin that had “Something For Stevie” scrawled on its outside. Two $50 bills were tucked within its folds.
Frannie looked at me with wet, shiny eyes, shook her head and said simply: “truckers.”
That was three months ago. Today is Thanksgiving, the first day Stevie is supposed to be back to work. His placement worker said he’s been counting the days until the doctor said he could work, and it didn’t matter at all that it was a holiday. He called 10 times in the past week, making sure we knew he was coming, fearful that we had forgotten him or that his job was in jeopardy.
I arranged to have his mother bring him to work. I then met them in the parking lot and invited them both to celebrate his day back. Stevie was thinner and paler, but couldn’t stop grinning as he pushed through the doors and headed for the back room where his apron and busing cart were waiting.
“Hold up there, Stevie, not so fast,” I said. I took him and his mother by their arms. “Work can wait for a minute. To celebrate you coming back, breakfast for you and your mother is on me!”
I led them toward a large corner booth at the rear of the room. I could feel and hear the rest of the staff following behind as we marched through the dining room. Glancing over my shoulder, I saw booth after booth of grinning truckers empty and join the procession. We stopped in front of the big table. Its surface was covered with coffee cups, saucers and dinner plates, all sitting slightly crooked on dozens of folded paper napkins.
“First thing you have to do, Stevie, is clean up this mess,” I said. I tried to sound stern. Stevie looked at me, and then at his mother, then pulled out one of the napkins. It had “Something for Stevie” printed on the outside. As he picked it up, two $10 bills fell onto the table.
Stevie stared at the money, then at all the napkins peeking from beneath the tableware, each with his name printed or scrawled on it. I turned to his mother.
“There’s more than $10,000 in cash and checks on table, all from truckers and trucking companies that heard about your problems. Happy Thanksgiving!”
Well, it got real noisy about that time, with everybody hollering and shouting, and there were a few tears, as well. But you know what’s funny? While everybody else was busy shaking hands and hugging each other, Stevie, with a big, big smile on his face, was busy clearing all the cups and dishes from the table. Best worker I ever hired.
Plant a seed and watch it grow. At this point, you can bury this inspirational message or forward it fulfilling the need! If you shed a tear, hug yourself, because you are a compassionate person.
Well.. Don’t just sit there! Share this story!
Do Not Speak Badly of Yourself
There is much wisdom behind the idea of ignoring the losses and making firm the wins of the past while increasing knowledge and building skills for the future. You cannot build a character while tearing it down. This is a post from Facebook.
A warrior has one true friend. Only one man he can rely on. Himself. So he feeds his body well; he trains it; works on it. Where he lacks skill, he practices. Where he lacks knowledge, he studies. But above all he must believe. He must believe in his strength of will, of purpose, of heart and soul.
Do not speak badly of yourself, for the warrior that is inside you hears your words and is lessened by them. You are strong and you are brave. There is nobility of spirit within you. Let it grow. David Gemmel
