Read or Condemn Yourself to Death by Ignorance

For those courageous souls brave enough to look and see what is,

who are unwilling to blindly accept

the lies and rules of tyrannical authority.

The simple step of a courageous individual is not to take part in the lie.

One word of truth outweighs a world of lies.

-----

If perchance a post of mine you think extreme

heed this from Kahlil Gibran:

“In battling evil, excess is good;

for he who is moderate in announcing the truth is presenting half-truth.

He conceals the other half out of fear of the people’s wrath.”

-----

One of my goals is to think and act as if I fear no man’s wrath or deed.

Frustrated

Boy! Does this post from a friend bring back memories! I well recall my sense of frustration in my teens when someone could not see the benefit in an idea I had.

The data I have since learned about life and the mind has replaced that frustration with understanding.

For instance, one datum I learned many years ago was that a person who received false data on a subject will very often reject true data to which they are later exposed because it disagrees with something they hold to be true. And there has been a monumental amount of repetition of false data over the last two and a half years on a subject that affects us all!

Another datum I only recently learned that made a whole lot of sense to me was that you can show a set of data and an accurate and obvious conclusion to a person but unless their level of awareness is high enough to recognise the truth of the solution, they will not “get“ it.

It’s almost like you can only teach somebody something that they already know, or at least have the awareness level to recognise.

So the “why“ that explains the frustration of the aware is that the majority of people have an awareness level too low to recognise truth. Sometimes even if it is slapping them in the face with a wet fish. Or worse, killing their friends and family before their very eyes!

Another reason I have shared previously as that only 13% of people, by survey, think, The others feel. https://www.tomgrimshaw.com/tomsblog/?p=39776

Interesting that the votes for the minor parties was 13% in the latest Australian Federal election. Most ever!

But don’t despair. It doesn’t take the majority to prevail. It only takes a tireless minority to effect change. and not even as large a number as you might think. Take heart from this:

Think_Before_You_Donate.pngThe same holds true for charities here in Australia, as we learned after the bushfires and floods. You'd do more good putting a fiver in the hand of a homeless person than giving $50 to most charities.

Ten Bears And Josey Wales

Ten Bears And Josey Wales

(Tom: I remember liking this scene when I saw it. I am please someone took the trouble to transcribe and share it so I could pass it on to you.) · One of the cinema’s most powerful scenes occurs in a film many might disregard due to its genre. In “The Outlaw Josey Wales,” a man trying to rebuild his war-shattered life, rides out to face a Comanche chieftain.

Josey: You be Ten Bears?

Ten Bears: I am Ten Bears.

Josey: I’m Josey Wales.

Ten Bears: I have heard. You’re the Gray Rider. You would not make peace with the Blue Coats. You may go in peace.

Josey: I reckon not. Got nowhere to go.

Ten Bears: Then you will die.

Josey: I came here to die with you. Or, live with you. Dying ain’t so hard for men like you and me, it’s living that’s hard; when all you ever cared about has been butchered or raped. Governments don’t live together, people live together. With governments you don’t always get a fair word or a fair fight. Well I’ve come here to give you either one, or get either one from you. I came here like this so you’ll know my word of death is true. And that my word of life is then true. The bear lives here, the wolf, the antelope, the Comanche. And so will we. Now, we’ll only hunt what we need to live on, same as the Comanche does. And every spring when the grass turns green and the Comanche moves north, we can rest here in peace, butcher some of our cattle and jerk beef for the journey. The sign of the Comanche, that will be on our lodge. That’s my word of life.

Ten Bears: And your word of death?

Josey: It’s here in my pistols, there in your rifles . . . I’m here for either one.

Ten Bears: These things you say we will have, we already have.

Josey: “That’s true. I ain’t promising you nothing extra. I’m just giving you life and you’re giving me life. And I’m saying that men can live together without butchering one another.“

Ten Bears: “It’s sad that governments are chiefed by the double-tongues. There is iron in your word of death for all Comanche to see. And so there is iron in your word of life. No signed paper can hold the iron, it must come from men. The word of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life . . . or death. It shall be life.“

ABC News Producer Missing Since FBI Raid, Was Writing Book About Botched Afghanistan Withdrawal

A star reporter for ABC News has been missing since an April 27 FBI raid at his Arlington, Virginia apartment.

Emmy award winner James Gordon Meek - a deep-dive journalist who was also a former senior counterterrorism adviser and investigator for the House Homeland Security Committee, abruptly quit his job of 9 years and “fell off the face of the earth,” after the raid, one of his colleagues told Rolling Stone.

At the time of the raid, Meek, 52, was co-authoring a now-published book about the botched US withdrawal from Afghanistan. According to ’sources familiar with the matter,’ federal agents allegedly found classified information on Meek’s laptop during their raid - though one investigative journalist who had worked with him said it would be highly unusual for a reporter to do so.

Ukraine War Hawk

A new article for The Irish Times by Virginia Tech professor Gerard Toal, titled “Ukraine risks being locked into endless war in bid for perfect peace,” contains a very interesting paragraph:

Ordinary Ukrainians on the front lines are divided on a ceasefire and negotiations. My Ukrainian colleague Karina Korostelina and I surveyed the attitudes of both residents and displaced persons in three Ukrainian cities close to the southeast battlefields this summer. Almost half agreed it was imperative to seek a ceasefire to stop Russians killing Ukraine’s young men. Slightly more supported negotiations with Russia on a complete ceasefire, with a quarter totally against and a fifth declaring themselves neutral. Respondents were torn when considering whether saving lives or territorial unity were more important to them. Those most touched by the war, namely the internally displaced, were more likely to prioritise saving lives. Other research reveals that those farthest from the battlefields have the most hawkish attitudes.

It’s the third from the last paragraph in the article, whose overall content cannot be remotely construed as sympathetic toward Moscow, but it’s very important information.

“Those most touched by the war, namely the internally displaced, were more likely to prioritise saving lives. Other research reveals that those farthest from the battlefields have the most hawkish attitudes.”

Those two simple sentences sum up so much of the attitude we are seeing toward this war, and it applies as much to those cheerleading continual escalation and bloodshed from the comfort of their homes on the other side of the world.

Until next time,
dream big dreams,
plan out how to achieve them,
be continually executing your plans,
enlist people to your causes,
travel and/or read widely, preferably both,
all the while observing what you observe
rather than thinking what you are told to think,
think well of your fellow man,
take time to help your fellow man,
he sorely needs it and it will help you too,
eat food that is good for your body,
exercise your body,
take time to destress,
and do the important things
that make a difference -
they are rarely the urgent ones!
