They waste too much of our money already. To the degree we earn and do not have the choice of where our money goes we are that much a slave. We are too big a percentage a slave already!

This applies equally here in Oz!

Reject raising the GST to 12.5% and reject applying it more broadly. Reject a continuous increase of the tax base, a continuous progression towards a greater degree of slavery and more hiding and less accountability for those who are supposed to work for our best interests!

- Non-acceptance of uncertainty.
If we accept uncertainty, it becomes adventure.

Tom’s take: Compleletely false and totally misleading! A wrong target. It is the destructive mismanagement of our resources that is the source of habitat loss, environmental destruction and lack of ecological sustainability. NOT population growth.

We need to replace the current paradigm with one where the planning and management of our society is not under the control of greedy corporations and bought politicians supplying a self-interested and selfish mass of unthinking purchasers.

This will take a huge change in the ethic level of a large number of people.

To my friends who have a “gun control is good” viewpoint, please read this and think again!

U.S. District Judge Beth Bloom said neither the school nor sheriff’s deputies had a legal obligation to protect students from the alleged shooter, Nikolas Cruz, who is accused of killing 17 people at the school Feb. 14. Her reasoning? The students were not in state custody, the Sun Sentinel reported.

A good read. It starts off: Rachel McKinnon — the so-called defending “world champion” of women’s track cycling — is a man. I’ll repeat that so my meaning cannot be misconstrued. He is a man.

Maybe my kind-hearted reader is offended by this blunt phrasing. Why am I calling McKinnon a man — when, perhaps for complicated reasons, he would rather be called a woman? Why don’t I compromise and call him a “trans woman,” as others do? Or be polite and address him by “she/her” pronouns, like everyone else in the media?

Well, I’ll tell you why, since you asked. This is precisely the well-meant, tragically naïve logic that has enabled a structure of lies and tyranny to be erected around us, a structure that most cannot opt out of without incurring an enormous social cost. It is a structure in which cheating and viciousness are rewarded while civility and truth-telling are punished. Rachel McKinnon is the perfect example of how this structure works and operates, as well as why we should resist it.
