I am fairly frequently reminded of the old joke, “How do you tell when a politician is lying?”

“His lips are moving.”

This guy expects us to vote for the Voice when he claims to have never read the 26 page Uluru statement?

The same guy who has pending misinformation legislation that penalises anything said or written that goes against the government narrative but excludes the government and media, allowing them to lie with impunity?

GIVE. ME. A. FREAKIN. BREAK!

What does he think we are, idiots? Spoiler alert, yes, he does.

I worked as an insurance agent for AMP for 12 years. THE most important investing tip I learned from my time there was, “Invest in your own income earning potential.”

You can only ever invest a portion of what you earn. If you earn 4 times as much you have a LOT more to invest!)

Here’s what’s worked for me:

Spend less than you earn.
invest the difference in S&P 500 index funds. I use VTSAX primarily.
keep expenses ratio low (easy if you invest in index funds with no financial advisor).
Automate your investing.
I have a percentage of every check I get automatically go to buy index funds.
Avoid any financial advisor that charges by assets under management (AUM).
Read Jim Collins stock series.
Marry the right person.

Agree is stronger than disagree and you end up becoming that which you resist. So don’t disagree, don’t resist, agree with what you want to have happen and focus on that!

You cannot get educated by this self-propagating system in which people study to pass exams, and teach others to pass exams, but nobody knows anything.

You learn something by doing it yourself, by asking questions, by thinking, and by experimenting.

(Tom: This matches my experiences in life. I have done a lot of formal courses but always with the purpose of, “How do I apply this data” rather than “How do I remember it so I can pass an exam.”

And I have done a lot of self-directed learning with the purpose of learning, sharing and applying the data.)

I think Anton was onto something here. I read elsewhere that most people suffer from too little drama in their lives. It is what soap operas and movies try to make up for. I think the solution is to set bigger goals for ourselves. To tackle the big issues that most people cannot confront.

A future I cannot accept, and you shouldn't either.

The Qld govt is asking for community views on whether to protect the rivers and floodplains of the Lake Eyre Basin from gas fracking. This is a historic moment. If we’re successful it will be the first no-go zone ever for gas in Queensland. But it’s only possible if we all add our voice. Climate change might be a scam but fracking destroys land and water health, therefore. subsequently, us. It should be resisted with all our capacity if we want to leave an inhabitable planet for our children!

It looks like there is a kink and delay in the roll-out of the CBDC (and by extension, personal social-carbon credit allowances) due to a tech issue that somehow has not been resolved with smart-contract blockchains. The Oracle Problem. Oracles are commonly recognized for their data transfer capabilities, i.e., fetching information from the real world and delivering it onto a blockchain so it can be referenced by a smart contract application. The Oracle Problem is the inability for blockchains to natively connect to external data resources in a manner that’s highly reliable and tamper-proof.
